In your opinion, what is the absolute best thing about Archbishop Bergan Catholic School? I feel blessed to work everyday in a faith based atmosphere where God is the focus. There is no separation between faith and school; it is a part of everything we do both in and outside the classroom. This positive environment fosters the growth of each individual student so they may become successful Christian leaders.

Grades 9, 10, 11, 12
Grade 8 with permission
Basic foundation in grammar with emphasis on verbal and written communications. Areas covered include: greetings, school, foods, family and basic conversation. Students will write and present short skits or presentations. Students will also engage in language learning through special projects in cultural exploration. The course is taught in English/Spanish.
Grades 10, 11, 12
Prerequisite: Spanish I and permission of instructor.
Review of basic grammar with progression into the study of the other verb tenses, grammatical usage and the ability to translate easy to moderately difficult texts at sight. Verbal communication, reading and writing is also intensified during the spectrum of this course. Reinforcement of language study through presentations, writing and cultural projects. This course is taught in English and Spanish.
Grades 11, 12
Prerequisite: Spanish II and permission of instructor.
Spanish III students will continue to refine their use of the language skills previously acquired through the use of Spanish only in class. Will also read short stories, folktales and poetry by various Spanish and Latin American writers. Using audio/visual tapes, dialogues, skits and cultural activities.
Grades 11, 12
Prerequisite: Spanish III and permission of instructor.
Focus on conversation, Spanish IV students will progress their skills through advanced verb tenses and refine their speaking, writing and comprehension through readings and discussions in Spanish and also through projects, skits and culture presentations.
